Astrazeneca söker medarbetare närmare bestämt:

Health Economis Scientist & Outcomes Research Scientist (REf.No. 21/05)

Global Health Economics & Outcomes research (HEOR) aims to bridge commercial aspiration with sound scientific evidence, by providing evidence that will enable AstraZeneca to be the industry leader in achieving market access at optimal price.

We are now looking for suitable candidates for two new positions - one Health Economics Scientist and one Outcomes Research Scientist - to work in our global HEOR group in Sweden.

HEOR scientists are responsible for developing and compiling data from national and international research in the areas of Health Economics and Outcomes Research. Our goal is to deliver information that further increases the value of AstraZeneca’s products by showing the benefits gained in addition to quality, safety and efficacy. For the major drug projects work is organised in value demonstration work streams (VDWS). A value demonstration leader (VDL) manages the VDWS. For projects without a VDL (e.g. in the emerging portfolio) the HEOR work is lead by a senior HEOR Scientist.

HEOR Sweden is part of Clinical R&D, Sweden. We collaborate and interact with the other sections of Global HEOR, located in Alderley Park, UK and in Wilmington, USA. We also collaborate closely with our counterparts Global Pricing & Market Access in marketing (PS&L).

The aim of Health Economics is to evaluate how a drug treatment affects the related costs in relation to its benefits. This may involve building disease platforms, economic modelling, database studies, sub studies in clinical trials, real life studies as well as budget impact models. This type of data can primarily be used in price negotiations with, and subsidy applications to, national or regional authorities and payers in different countries and for various types of marketing activities.

The aim of Outcomes Research is to evaluate how drug treatment affects the lives and the quality of life of patients in everyday life. Typical work tasks include developing or assessing technical and scientific quality in questionnaires to be used in clinical studies as well as doing opportunity assessments in new disease areas. Information about patient reported outcomes (PROs) is becoming more important. The well-informed, active and knowledgeable patients of today demand quite another type of information than formerly. Patients are increasingly taking a more active part in their own treatment planning, including the choice of therapy. Outcomes Research plays an important role to demonstrate a product’s value from a patient perspective, information that potentially can be used in labels, marketing and regulatory documents.

The work entails:

·Under the management of the VDL you will lead and carry out work tasks in project form that are connected with the value demonstration of our products

· Independently lead and carry out HEOR work in some projects which do not have a VDL· Be involved in different drug project teams and the VDWS

· Deal with external consulting companies

· Help out in the collection, analysis, critical examination and presentation of data

· Give HEOR support to our local marketing companies as well as to our marketing colleagues in the global organisation· Support and mentor your junior colleagues.

Qualifications:

· A first degree and experience in research methodology with emphasis on economics and/or psychology, statistics, health science research, epidemiology, medicine, or equivalent

· Previous experience from the pharmaceutical industry is a merit, in particular in the fields of health economics or outcomes research. You need to be collaborative, like to take on responsibility, have excellent interpersonal skills, like to work in a team, be a good communicator, be creative, be business-oriented and have a well-developed conceptual thinking. As there will be periods of intense work and work that requires proactively, it is important that you are able to manage working under pressure, prioritise and to work independently. It is critical that you have excellent skills in the English language, both in speaking and in writing.

You will work in a global environment with contacts all over the world, which will involve some travelling. You will also be an important part of the constant work of improving routines, scientific methods and techniques going on within AstraZeneca. Location in Sweden is flexible (Lund, Mölndal or Södertälje).

Depending on the qualifications of the candidates these positions may become, and be filled by, Senior HEOR Scientists.
